Elders' Values for the Education Ministry

 

  • Conducting a ministry of education within the context of lifelong faithful discipleship to Jesus Christ
  • Facilitating persons to become Christ-like in all areas of their lives through teaching.
  • Helping persons to become Christ-like in all areas of their lives through teaching.
  • Helping persons to embrace the personal and cultural relevance of biblical truth.
    1. Maintaining biblical integrity while striving to be personally and culturally relevant.
    2. Blending biblical content with life situations and experience.
  • Providing a safe environment for people to experience spiritual growth and development through the ministry of education.
  • Teaching which:
    1. Is directed to the development of the whole person -- mind, will, and emotion.
    2. Engages the student on the basis of how different persons hear and process information.
    3. Employs various media, technology, and resources to reach our goals.
    4. Is prepared by diligent study of Scripture and life saturated in prayer.
    5. Creatively shapes and delivers messages so that they will be heard, received, and applied and not just proclaimed.
  • Growing, cultivating, and preparing teachers to teach effectively.
  • Involving as many Christians as possible meaningfully in the implementation of the education ministry.
  • Develop an ongoing blend of textual and topical classes that attract people to attend and to participate.
